Abstract
Hot Maroc is the story of an antihero, Rahhal, an insignificant, cowardly and timid character who, through social networks, settles his accounts with his “intimate enemies”, that is to say any person who has been more successful. than him. His immense ability to harm by the use of a keyboard is discovered and appreciated for its true value by the security services. And suddenly he is forced to use his blogging skills to spread the murderous rumors and fake news dictated by government moles on the powerful electronic magazine Hot Maroc.
A true x-ray of the new Moroccan society born from the socio-economic upheavals that the country has known since the 1980s, this first novel by Yassin Adnan denounces with verve all those who, in the shadow of power, block Morocco's march towards democracy. Whether bourgeois businessmen, demagogic preachers, pretentious academics or tame former militants, all find themselves unwittingly involved in the ferocious “animal comedy” imagined by the evil Rahhal, and brilliantly restored by the author.
